ICMA ANNOUNCES WINNER OF SIXTH ANNUAL TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ, October 05, 2005— The International Card Manufacturers Association, a worldwide non-profit association of plastic card manufacturers and personalizers supported by suppliers and other industry participants, has announced the recipients of their sixth annual scholarship. This year’s winners are John Skoglund of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Sarah Ruth Ann Young of Churchville, Pennsylvania. They will be awarded $2500 each in recognition of their outstanding academic accomplishments and community involvement.

In its sixth year, the ICMA Technology Scholarship recognizes the children of ICMA members exclusively and is designed to help students perpetuate a career in the technology sector . These students are college juniors or seniors who have demonstrated excellence in both academics and technology-related work experience.

Skoglund is a senior mechanical engineering major at the University of Minnesota. He is currently employed at Fargo Electric, an ICMA member company. Young, a senior chemical engineering major at Drexel University, is the daughter of ICMA member Vincent E. Young, of Gemplus. In addition to her schooling, she is currently employed at Rohm and Haas as a chemist.

“We are very proud of our scholarship winners. These two young adults show exceptional focus and boast tremendous achievement throughout their college careers,” said Jeffrey Barnhart, ICMA’s founder and executive director. “We are privileged to honor them. This program, as well as our member base, is a huge success and brings great pride to ICMA.”
