PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ, July 17, 2007— The International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) introduces the first accreditation program for the card manufacturing industry. This new accreditation, Advanced Card Education (ACE), is designed to recognize those with advanced card manufacturing knowledge.

The ACE designation is awarded to people with a broad and detailed knowledge of card manufacturing and processes who successfully complete a rigorous exam. ACE accreditation validates expertise and distinguishes employees as motivated experts in the card manufacturing industry. It also increases customer confidence. Applicants must be working for an ICMA member company and have a minimum of three years experience working in the card industry in any of the following areas:

  • Card manufacturing
  • Personalization or service bureau
  • Supplier to the card industry

The first designation, ACE-M, covers basic card manufacturing; future designations planned include ACE-A (advanced technologies) and ACE-P (personalization). Testing will be conducted at ICMA events, including the EXPO, workshops and other major industry shows. The first test will take place at this year’s annual ICMA EXPO in San Diego, California. For more information on the ICMA ACE accreditation, or to learn how to become an ICMA member, call (609) 799-4900; e-mail info@icma.com or visit the ICMA website at http://www.icma.com.
