ICMA 2007 Spring Workshop Academy

Industry Education – ICMA Academy Workshops

A Valuable Educational Opportunity for ICMA Members Only!

A High-Value, Low Cost Educational Event

The card industry is becoming more high tech every year. In its constant evolution from printing standard CR80 cards to the advent of new card bodies, applications, materials, electronics and designs, the need for up-to-date education is paramount. ICMA’s annual Spring Academy workshops are held in two locations, one in the United States and one in Europe. Each addresses the latest issues and applications in the card manufacturing and production industry, with topics that reflect the industry trends in each individual market.

ICMA 2007 Academy Workshop Wrap-up

The ICMA Rome Academy Workshop was quite a success this year with more than 70 attendees. This was the highest attended European workshop to date! Attendees at this event were from Germany, France, Italy, United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Ukraine, Poland and even China! Thomas Ehm of NOVO Cardtechology was the chairperson for the workshop and did a wonderful job.

The St. Louis workshop received some of the best evaluations of any of our workshops. The topics and presenters were very well received by the audience. The US workshop Chair, Bill Crawford, did an excellent job and encouraged audience interaction. The ICMA workshop provides a great opportunity to contact customers and potential customers from around the world in a relaxed and cooperative atmosphere. In addition to the obvious and immediate marketing benefit, the presentations and networking are a chance to asses the state and direction of the card industry both in commercial and technical terms. As a supplier, an appreciation of the full range of problems faced by our customers helps us bring additional value to our products and service.
Tom Kleeman, CEO Spartanics
