Visa Appoints Dutta as Marketing Chief
Ex-Sony Ericsson marketing chief, Dee Dutta, has been appointed Visa International’s head of marketing for Asia-Pacific.
Dutta replaces Rajiv Kapoor, who was regional EVP and GM of marketing and was promoted to head of products and marketing for Central Europe, Middle East and Africa in April.
Dutta was VP and head of marketing for Sony Ericsson, based in the U.K. During his time there, he was widely credited with leading the company’s successful participation in tennis. He agreed the deal to sponsor the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami and signed up Maria Sharapova, who became Sony Ericsson’s first global brand ambassador in early 2008.
