Card Manufacturers - Do You Have Talented Card Designers?

ICMA’s Badge Design Competition allows members to submit their EXPO themed badge design for consideration as the badge worn by all EXPO attendees.

ICMA's I.D. Ideas Badge Design Competition, now in it's fifth year, is underway for this year's EXPO in Orlando, Florida. Manufacturer members can submit their entries for designs for the BADGE to be worn by all attendees at the EXPO. Previous year’s badges were designed by ABnote Australasia, CPI, Travel Tags and VCT. Card manufactures… get your creative minds working and submit your badge ideas.

The purpose of this is to recognize the expertise and talent of our member companies with card design and production. The winner will be recognized at the EXPO, in all ICMA publications and press releases, and can have their own logo/design on the back of the card.
Design submissions must be e-mailed to info@icma.com by March 3, 2008, with the contest winner to be notified by March 5.
Submissions must include:

• Your full company address and primary contact name/email address (you must be an ICMA member to enter)
  
  
• A PDF file of the front and back design for the card
  
  
• A brief description of the card to be produced, including color, the card material, components, and any special features, or technology to be used.
  
  
• The winning company must provide ICMA with 500 complimentary cards for use as badges at the ICMA EXPO by March 19, 2008. ICMA will personalize the cards.

The winning company will receive great visibility:

• All ICMA EXPO attendees will wear your badge during the show!
• Your company will be recognized during the EXPO with a plaque to be presented during the Awards Dinner
• Your company will be referenced in a Post-EXPO press release to the industry media
• Your company will be showcased in all of ICMA’s media, including the web site, Card Manufacturing magazine and monthly Card Flash.

Badge Requirements:

• Card size must be ID-1 (85,60 mm (3.370 in) wide by 53,98 mm (2.125 in) high by 0,76 mm (0.030 in) thick)
• Must have an open area or light background of 2.5cm high x 8cm wide near the center of the card for names to be printed in center of card
• Your company logo cannot appear on the front of the card
• There can be no political or religious-based messages or images on the card
• Back of card open for your own unique design and can include your company logo; use of the back of the card strictly for company advertisement not recommended, consider incorporating unique or innovative design
• Can incorporate mag stripe, chip, stored value chips, contactless cards, unique materials or other technology if desired for aesthetics.
